James Tyrrell
Chartered Physiotherapist
James is an experienced physiotherapist, specialising in musculoskeletal, sports injuries and rehabilitation. He has a particular interest in diagnosing and treating running injuries, having competed at national level in cross country when he was younger. James enjoys working with tendon injuries, biomechanical and gait analysis and functional rehabilitation. He is trained in Anatomy in Motion, tensiomyography, pressure platforms and Optogait which provide him with a comprehensive understanding of biomechanics and movement analysis.
James has a depth and breadth of experience in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal pathologies gained in various countries and in the UK (where he has worked for the NHS and in several private clinic settings) and across a variety of sectors including NHS, sport, a number of private settings, occupational health and ergonomics. James has been involved in recent years with Taunton Athletics Club, youth teams of Bristol Bears rugby, Southwest Saints football and Somerset Cricket Club.
James has extensive training in an extended range of techniques and treatment approaches. He is passionate about helping people to overcome pain and injury in the long term and achieve their goals through a comprehensive assessment and tailored treatment to each individual.
Away from work James remains a keen athlete having participated in triathlons and distance running. He enjoys spending time with his family and dog, travelling and following practically any sport!
James works on Wednesdays & Fridays 9am-5pm
